"Vriksha Sanvardhanen Vishwa”, a Sanskrit phrase which means World is protected and nurtured by the Trees” is guiding principle for Tree for Life (TFL) Foundation. Our goal is to inspire and promote impactful Environmental Protection Movement by civic engagement for creating a greener earth. We are inspired by the belief that a single person can make a huge impact if he/she plant trees and protect it for generations to come.
Tree for Life Foundation has taken an initiative in 2020 during difficult time of Covid-19 Pandemic for changes with a real impact in the field of tree plantation. This is a movement dedicated to create a better environment by planting trees and making earth a greener place for us and our future generations.
TFL Foundation is registered in Mumbai and having operations office in an Orange City, Nagpur. Nagpur city is also known for the Zero Mile Marker, which is an indicator of a geographical center of India. TFL Foundation has started tree plantation drive in and around Nagpur city and soon its operations will be spread in other part of the India including Mumbai and Thana region.
At Tree for Life Foundation, we believe that small actions can make a big difference. By planting trees, we are not only helping to combat climate change and protect our planet, but we are also creating a better future for generations to come. ABOUT US
Global warming, a biggest challenge to humankind, leading to the loss of environment requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to walk extra miles. Tree For Life Foundation emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to make our mother earth a greener planet. Covid-19 pandemic has given an opportunity to human-being to pause, introspect and act to restore mother earth by simply planting Trees and More Trees. Established in 2020, we’re an organization driven by progressive ideas, bold actions, and a strong foundation of support. OUR MISSION
Deploy and promote innovative yet cost effective methods to increase sustainable green cover through mass tree plantation involving individuals, communities and organisations.
Lower carbon footprint in order to heal the planet and grow prosperity by promoting and implementing innovative methods for sustainable farming, rejuvenation of the water bodies and effective waste management through education, training and collaborative action with the support from individuals, communities, research institutes and public / private organisations.
OUR VISION
To develop and support the community which is passionate for Tree Plantation, to have clean, healthy and well protected environment supporting a sustainable society and economy for themselves and future generation. We have put forward a challenging goal in front of us to plant minimum 200,000 trees by 2025.

AGREEMENT WITH GARDEN DEPT., NAGPUR
We have entered into the agreement with Nagpur Municipal Corporation Garden Dept., for planting 50,000 tress in various gardens in and around Nagpur City. This is first of its kind agreement with local body and tree plantation campaign with the involvement of Community in various area starting from July-2021. We invite all nature lover to connect with us and book a date for plantation drive and better tomorrow.

TFL FOUNDATION
A sight of clear blue sky at evening during complete lockdown during COVID in Mar-2020 in the city of Mumbai, reminds founder a good old Mumbai sky which otherwise is not that clear. Clear sky and calmness around can brighten the mind and brilliant idea popes up. A quest to have clear sky even without lockdown has lead founders to explore simple solution for complex problem and its mass Tree Plantation movement.
SELECTION OF TREES FOR PLANTATION
In botany, a tree is a perennial plant with an elongated stem/trunk, supporting branches and leaves. For us Tree is source of life. Based on extensive research and expert advice, native plants of trees are selected to enrich flora and fauna. It is being ensured that selected variety of trees can sustain growth at place of plantation with minimal intervention of humans. These saplings are grown for one year in nursery and now being planted at various places.

50,000 TREE PLANTATION IN NAGPUR CITY
Tree Plantation in various Gardens in Nagpur
An agreement is reached between Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Tree for Life Foundation for planting 50,000 trees in next 5 year span. This is first of its kind approved received by Tree for Life Foundation from the Government Authority. The campaign will start with public partnership in various gardens in Nagpur by July-2021. We invite volunteers and enthusiastic individual and help us to achieve this goal. More than 22,000 plants are already being grown in nursery of the Tree for Life Foundation. These trees include around 20 varieties of native plants which are selected based on expert advice and to add natural diversification in Nagpur region.

DR. PRADEEP CHAWANDE
Founding Chairman
After serving in the Power Sector for more than 40 years, Dr. Pradeep has taken leadership role in Tree for Life Foundation to guide the team to be the driver of change in making the earth, a little more greener. He is M.Tech and Ph.D. from IIT Bombay and has held Snr. Vice President position in Reliance Energy (now Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd.), Mumbai.
DHIRAJ CHAVAN
Founder & Managing Director
Dhiraj is in field of housekeeping of public places. He has been actively involved in the community service in various form and helping needy for last 20 years. He has successful arranged various community programs in and around Nagpur area. His passion and love for nature is key driver for executing various plantation drive by Tree for Life Foundation.
VIKAS CHAVHAN
Project Manager
A professional cinematographer and art direct Vikas has multiple talents and is always striving for the best results. Tree for Life Foundation idea hit him at right place and he has decided to devote his full time for the cause for which the foundation is formed. He is based in Nagpur and managing day to day affair with support from staff and like minded people.
PHANINDHAR CHIVUKULA
Chief Strategist
Phanindhar lovingly known as Phani in Offshore Industry is heading one of the reputed International Offshore Construction Company in India. Since childhood, Phani is fond of nature and adopted plant based diet for lifetime. He will be using his personnel and professional expertise to guide team to grow TFL foundation in structural way.
SACHIN ARVIND CHAVAN
Founder & Chief Advisor
Sachin, M.Tech.(Structures) from IIT Bombay, is working in Oil & Gas Industry for 21 yrs. His strong urge to contribute to the restore nature by planting trees inspired him to shape Tree for Life Foundation. He is driving force to achieve set goals in time bound manner. He likes to spend his spare time exploring and learning new things related to the oceans and environment.
VENKAT RAMAMURTHY
Founder & Technical Advisor
Having spend his childhood in the Green City Bengaluru, Venkat was always missing greenery while working in Mumbai. He has more than 14 Yrs of experience in Oil & Gas Industry worldwide and known as a problem solver. Staying connected to nature is what Venkat like most. He has been guiding team for effective implementation of ideas while executing the projects.
PREM SINGH
Advisor
Prem, having more than 20 Yrs of experience in various industries and worked in various parts of the world. His inspiring stories from Singapore and rain forest Amazon, Brazil related to the mass tree plantation helped group to think big and act fast. His vision is driving team to improve upon project execution. Travelling to various part of the world and connecting with the people is Prem's favourite hobby.
RAVISH MANIYAR
Incharge - Finance
Ravish, a practicing CA for more than 8 years is partner in RS Maniyar & Company, Pune. He has profound interest in social cause and volunteered to take this important role in Tree for Life Foundation. Other than numbers, he has keen interest in reading, exploring new places and trekking. He is having professional qualification as FCA, CS and Forensic Auditor and looking after day to day financial affair of TFL.
Dr. ABHAY M. SHENDE
Advisor
Dr Abhay M. Shende, D.SC., Ph.D., M.Tech, B.E. (Civil) is Principle in Priyadarshani J.L. College of Engineering, Nagpur. He has received many awards including Bharat Excellence Award, Best Indian Educationist Award to name few. Nurturing student is his passion and planting trees is his hobby. He will be looking after mobilisation of required resources to work on ongoing and projects in pipeline.
